The Recent folders drop-down menu (File -> Open dialog) seems to be populating only for files that are opened through IrfanView. If the file is opened through Explorer, the file's folder doesn't enter that menu.
To reproduce:
Correct behavior
1. Open a file through IV (File -> Open dialog)
2. Close IV and open it again
3. Open the File -> Open dialog - the file's folder should be in the Recent folders list
Incorrect behavior through Explorer
1. Open a file through Windows Explorer (which is what most people do)
2. Close IV and open it again
3. Open the File -> Open dialog - the file's folder is not in the Recent folders list
An issue, related to the above is with the Save/Save As... dialog:
1. take a screenshot of a program (PrntScrn or Alt+PrntScrn)
2. open IV and paste the screenshot
3. save (or Save As) the file somewhere
4. close IV
5. repeat 1 and 2
6. when you try and save the second screenshot, the previous folder is not in the Recent folders list. The save dialog doesn't even open to the last used folder, as it normally should, but opens to the Desktop (in case of Save (which is probably a feature, not a bug)) or ... system32 (in case of Save As)
