EXIF tags not read

METADATA.dll does not display certain EXIF metadata tags.
For example, in Properties/Full screen, at the bottom of the window, I tried to add tag 8236 as $E8236.
It is supposed to display "Metering mode 2" as Multi-segment or Highlight from Sony raw files.
That's supported by EXIFTOOL. But in IrfanView, METADATA.dll does not show anything.
There are many other tags not displayed too.

IrfanView doesn't understand every EXIF tag. That's a limitation of the library rather than a bug. Does IrfanView preserve those tags when the picture is saved to new JPEG file?
