how to create a exposure correction based on another image

i have image sets, left and right. numbered equally in this format: image_0001.jpg up to image_2880.jpg per set.

however, at sun up and down due to light refraction of the lens the left(up) or right(down) side of the images is darker
what i would like to to is use the overlap in images, let's say 100px wide from the edge. to check for exposure differences and compensate one or both images to match.
would this be possible and if so, how?

what i've done so far is cutting out small parts of the images to compare the exposure.
