After reading the older thread I found that mangameeya is the closest we can get to an irfanview with zip/rar support.
I can pretty much configure it with the same mouse/key bindings as my iv. Sadly last update was in 2011 so things packed with RAR5 are unreadable. It's pretty light, runs circles around cddisplay.
