Requested Random sort (mix) in the slideshow

In the current version of IV, I can run a slideshow in Automatic or Random mode.
In the Random mode, it mixes all the files before slideshow and doesn't update the list of files.
This doesn't allow to continue in the slideshow after stop it like it is possible in the automatic mode.
Would be great if would be option "Random sort" directly in the "Sort order" dialog.
It allows creating one random list of images with the possibility to break the slideshow and continue later from the same point.
Btw. I don't understand the option "no Sort" which do nothing, it is the same like click to Cancel.

This is a reasonable request and worth submitting to Irfan Skiljan.

As you have already discovered in Random mode Irfanview does not make random selections from the file list as it runs the slideshow but instead appears to shuffle the list when you start the show or when it reloops, so that you see every image on the list each time round but in a different randomised order.
That does suggest to me that what you request may be quite easy to do.

As for your BTW, when you choose "No sort" the files on the list remain in the order they are supplied to the program by Windows. For an NTFS filing system that means it does the same as either "By Name (Ascending)" or "By Name (Ascending, Natural)". Perhaps someone has a use for it, but I have not found one since the days of Windows 98.

There are free image viewers around that already do what you want in a slideshow . The one that springs to mind is Wildbit viewer . That offers options of either Random selection or Pre-shuffled.
