Regarding the above link, animated gifs don't obey resizing options at the moment. ( Options -> Properties/Settings -> Full Screen/Slideshow -> "Full screen/Slideshow display options"; upper left of dialog ).
I would request that an option be made available for animated gifs to obey those settings. A checkbox in the same screen, perhaps.
