    Requested Raw view

I just upgraded from 3.85. That showed Olympus ORF files full size. But the upgrade 4.10 only shows thumbnails. It won't show the image full size.

I think I entered this under Support or bugs, because the previous Irfanviews did show the full size .ORF (but only that, no thumbnails).

Since this was moved to, Features, I take it that I have to reinstall an older version to again get a look at the full sized images?

Are you sure that you also upgraded the proper 4.10 plugins ?
And there is an extra update of the Formats plugin (4.11):

Formats - improved loading for IFF and digital camera RAW formats

I downloaded again to be sure. But I'd downloaded the latest when I installed 4.1 . Again, it shows thumbnails for the old Olympus .ORF files. It didn't used to do that. And it's convenient and fast. But before - it showed the full-sized .ORF image, after a few seconds wait each time. Now, I don't see how one can view the full image. Is there a way? Or was this feature literally dropped? Again, all I get now are tiny thumbnail images.

I have no knowledge about the .ORF format, and I doubt that some feature literally has been dropped.
But I find the difference in behaviour of the versions quite peculiar.
3.85 shows full size, not thumbnails. And 4.10 shows thumbnails, but not full size..

          To eliminate things :
What's the start-position showing a file ? From the Thumbnail viewer of IV, or with the File/Open dialog?

I think there are variations. But it's Olympus' version of Canon RAW. It's a sensor dump.

I can get thumbnails very quickly. Each read - "160 x 120 " and 7 something meg. When you click on a thumbnail, a 160 x 120 image is shown, not the full sized image. The previous version of Irfanview didn't show the thumbnails, but took a few seconds, or more, to process the ORF full size. Now it more rapidly shows thumbnail, but won't show the image full size at all. You can't see much at 160x120.

So you click on a thumbnail. What happens if you d-click on a file when IV is not running?

Double-click the file in IExplorer. It's associated with Irfanview from before. All that shows in Irfanview is the small thumbnail.

I don't have an .ORF file, but if I want to open a file, converted to the .RAW format, I got a dialog
                  "Set RAW open parameters".
Width and Height are default at 160x120. So maybe you should change these values first.

Thank you for that. I didn't see that. There's a checkbox in preferences for 'try to grab preview/thumbnail'. I just clicked it off. It shows the fullsize fine, now.

                    Problem resolved.
