I have posted this feature request with another called "Open after Save option". IMHO this request is useful on its own, but even more so if the two requests are taken together.
At present after a new image has been Opened, then clicking on Undo has no effect. The previous image has been cleared from the Undo store. This request is to leave the last copy of the previous image in the Undo store so that it is possible to go back to it.
Apart from recovery from a mistake, this has advantages for Copy and Paste operations. Copying a selected area from the new image does not cause a new Undo copy to be made, so it would be possible to press Undo and return to the previous image to paste back there. It is now only possible to do this sort of copy and paste operation using two IrfanView copies.
It would, I believe, be necessary to save a few additional pieces of data in Undo, such as the Folder name and image position, so that these could be restored too.
This Undo feature has no value after a Save or Save As operation at present, since the image is never changed or updated in any way. If my "Open after Save option" request were implemented the image may well change during this operation. Then clearly the same Undo feature would be invaluable after a Save or Save As too.
