most photo cameras allow some sound recording attached to the last photograph taken (e.g.: some comment related to the picture or the noise that was around when the picture was taken).
The resulting audio files have the same file name as the related picture (to show that they belong together) but of course different file extensions - like
DSCF1234.JPG
DSCF1234.WAV
Slide shows with the Fuji FinePixViewer (supplied with every Fujifilm camera) present such a pair of files as a unity: The audio clip is played along with the presentation of the associated picture (The sound is played to the end of the audio file or until change of slide - whatever comes first).
I think this is a very nice feature that may help to make a slide show more lively. It would be great (and I would spend another donation) if this feature was included in IrfanView.
