    Requested Select Next/Prev Directories

My pictures are stored in subfolders by date, and I often want to start at a particular dated subfolder and browse pictures in that folder as well as other nearby parallel subfolders. However, when I reach the end of the current folder IV prompts "End of folder reached. Do you want to continue in another folder?" but offers only the options of the current folder ("[.]") or the parent folder ("[..]").

The "next" and "previous" directories at the same level (as defined by the existing IV directory sort order setting) seem to be "natural" options to have here for multi-directory browsing. However, the replies to my support post (http://en.irfanview-forum.de/vb/showthread.php?p=22795) imply that IV doesn't have this capability.

Any hope to see it added?

    Thanks.

I posted already how to do it:

Does this not do what you want?

My request was about making browsing between sequential parallel folders as easy as possible. Skippybox argues that my suggestions, above, don't make sense in the Browse Subfolders dialog, which is intended to be strictly a folder browser.

So, perhaps a better way to to make such browsing transparent is to add (yet another) option. With the option enabled pressing [space] at the end of a directory goes immediately to the first file in the "next" directory, and pressing [backspace] at the beginning of a directory goes immediately to the last file in the "previous" directory. (With the option disabled you get the current behaviour: reaching the first or last file in a directory pops up the Browse Subfolders dialog.)
