You need not go to Explorer and delete the picture from your Hard Disk! In the midst of a Slideshow, all you need to do is the following:
    1. Press Escape (to stop the slideshow)
    2. Press W (to bring up the Slideshow options screen)
    3. Remove the picture(s) you do not want in your slideshow - no need to delete the picture(s), simply use the 'Remove' button at the bottom Right of the slideshow options window!
    4. Click 'Play Slideshow' button to play the slideshow, minus the picture(s) you de-selected!
    Download IrfanView Help Manual from:

      I have posted this before.
My first External editor program is always set to C:\windows\explorer.exe "/select,"%1
Whenever I am Browsing just pressing Shift+E will bring up a Windows Explorer window showing the current image and from there I can do a whole host of things with it, including deleting the file.
It works during a slideshow too.

Irfan could take yet another page from Thorsten Lemke's GraphicConverter X for Mac OS and develop a button bar that appears in the slideshow in full-screen mode, said button bar having forward, backward, skip and delete buttons on it.

There's still room for two things in IrfanView: 1). Space at the bottom of each image in a full-screen slideshow to display such metadata as keywords, supplemental categories, origin etc.; 2). Space to add just those few (dozen) annoying metadata tags IrfanView can't read in, edit or save back to a file. I advocate both. BZT
