Requested Set file modification time to exif time

It should be possible to set the image file's modification time to the EXIF time (i.e. file time should be set to time of taking image).
This should be an option of batch dialog.

A jpeg image converted by Canon's DPP has a file modification time equal to the conversation time, but I'd rather have the image creation time as file modification time. I know this can be done with Exiftool, but it would be nice if this could be done with Irfanview.

Image files from my camera have a Modified time that is already the same as the Taken time from the Exif data.
That is unless the image has been changed since it was taken when the later save becomes the time modifed.

If Canon DPP resets the modification time when it does this conversion, should you not be asking them to include an option for it not to do so rather than expecting Irfanview to set it back for you?
