Change "Save As" default folder to current active folder?

I know this has been a feature request for many years. Where does it currently stand? As far as I can tell, the answer has always been, "We don't care if you expect Irfanview to act like most other programs. We want the 'Save' feature to default to the folder where the original file is located, but the 'Save As' to default to the last folder *used* to 'Save As' ."

I assume this is still the case?

Yes it is. But you can change this in Options > Properties/Settings... > File Handling to the Windows standard.

It's not really standard. Now I can't save over the original without a dialog, which most programs allow.
