Survey: "Append selection to TIF" useful or not?

    Hi.

Some of you might know/use the "Append current image to TIF" in the Options/Multipage images menu.

What do you think about the possibility to append a selection to a multipage TIF instead of the whole picture?
I'm thinking of drawing a selection, use "Save selection as..." to save it as TIF file. The selection remains with this operation. Then move the selection to a different part of the image and use "Append selection to TIF" to add the selected area to the TIF file. The selection remains and I can append other parts of the picture to the TIF.

    Useful or not?

Right now I have to draw a selection, use Crop selection (CTRL-Y), append the image to TIF, Undo, draw the selection again, repeat. "Append selection to TIF" like described above would save some time.

    Cheers
    Thorsten

There's no need to draw the selection again.

With IrfanView 4.72 you can do Edit > Restore Last Selection to instantly recreate it.

If you right click on that menu entry, you can also assign a shortcut key for this to make it really quick.

Yes, I know, and I can save the selection and get it back by pressing Shift+C and Enter.

I also know that this is not a 'life saving' must-have function, it would make my work with musical scores a little bit easier, when I edit 4-page scores or Conductor's scores from distributor Homepages with often 4 pages on one where I could simply move the selection and add the next page. And I wondered if others would find it useful as well. I only know a tiny bit about programming and I thought that it cannot be that difficult to append the selected area to a TIF instead of the complete image that is loaded at the moment.
If noone else has use for this, fine
