Fine Threshold 8bf - what am I doing wrong?

Hey, hopefully this is something stupid that I've neglected to do.

I've been using Irfanview with the Fine Threshold 8bf filter for a long time with no problems. But I recently had to do a total reinstall and now I can't get past this behaviour.
    I installed Irfanview 64 in Windows 10 (home, 64).
    Installed plugins.
Pasted "finethreshold.8bf" into the "Adobe 8BF" folder.
I loaded the filter through the Filter dialog and it shows up there and works as expected when I start it from the Filter dialog.
However, the plugin still does not show in the list of available filters. (see images)

Even thoughthe filter technically works, this makes a difference because I'm scanning over 100 pages and need to be able to access the filter in as few keystrokes as possible. I was doing it through the regular Adobe 8bf Plugins menu, and I'd love to get back to doing it that way again as soon as possible.

Thanks so much for any help you can offer!!!

    I pasted finethreshold.8bf from a .ZIP file into "C:\Program Files\IrfanView\Plugins\Plugins32\Adobe 8BF".
Win10 asked for admin rights, which I granted. Now the filter is shown in the filter dialog.

Sorry it took so long to follow up. This problem actually resolved on the machine I was using (and I forget how!!!), but now I have the exact same problem with a fresh install.

The problem is that - as you can see from the screenshots above - the filter actually DOES appear in the filter dialogue, and works fine from there, but it does NOT appear on the actual menu in Irfanview, meaning I have to poke into the filter dialogue. I would rather have the plugin appear natively on the "Adobe 8bf plugins" submenu. But it's not showing up there.

      Any help would be appreciated.
      Thanks!!
