    IV scripting? Advancedbatch functionality?

Hi, I'm a complete noob to IrfanView. (4.10)

Does IV has any scripting capabilities? In other words, like a macro to save keystrokes or mouse clicks within the program?

I see the advancedbatch command-line option, but I can't find out what it has the capability of doing. Is there a reference?

    Thanks,

    Dennis

I'm afraid there's no scripting, or macro function in IrfanView.

Check the batch tutorial by Bhikku Pesala.

      Thanks, Sam_Zen.

Paint Shop Pro (v.8 to v.Photo X2) has it, but it crashes if you try to script FileClose and run it from a command line. PhotoShop seems to have the whole enchilada, but was hoping IrfanView would have the right stuff.

      Take care,

      Dennis

I'm glad I stayed with v.7, so I don't have to bother about this.
The whole macro-concept was introduced with Win 3.11 and from the start, it had a very unstable preformance, especially with mouse clicks, so I reckon until now on.
As soon as only an order of keystrokes are involved, it tends more to a script format with an order of commands.
Which already could be realized with writing a list of IV command-lines in a .BAT file.

          Hi,

I don't know what you like to do with Irfan View and scripting. But you may take a look at Gimp 2.2.17 portable (this version could be run from an usb stick without installing) or the latest version Gimp 2.4.1.

Or, if you just like to have shortcuts for for IrfanvView, you may look at AutoIt or AutoHotKey...

          Regards, Nils.
