Hitting "S" to Save As causes IV v.4.4 to close (exit program)

Hi.

I'm using Irfanview v. 4.4 (64 bit) on a laptop running Windows 7 (64 bit) Home Premium, SP1.

I have a sporadic issue: sometimes when I hit the "S" key to save (Save As...) edits to a photo, the Irfanview application spontaneously exits.

I've searched the forum and see similar issues reported--but none since 2010....

Anyone else experienced this and maybe found a fix?

maybe - if this problem further exists, try copying the Image before saving [CTRL + C] - so it still exists in clipboard and could be pasted [CTRL + V], if saving fails. Perhaps a new instance (start irfan again/ after it crashed again) of irfanview is able to import it again and save it correctly?

Maybe it's better to use 32 Bit version of irfan - becasue something collides with your Win64 OS? Some DLL a are changed?

I sometimes noticed this behaviour too, when I executed stressing RAM and Plugin appliances before.
I'm not sure if this is iviews fault.
