Trying Photoshop Starter Edition as ext. editor

Before downloading latest IrfanView, I had Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 as an external editor. After downloading IV 4.10, I cannot find the correct link to use it as photo launcher/editor. Instead, I can only open the full version of the program, not wanted. Is there a keyword or parameter I must add to the Photoshop address pointer (in Misc. 3 Seting) to make it directly open selected images?

That might be a better question for an Adobe forum - lol - I think I had it once, on a CD that came with something, but I chucked it out. If you have, anywhere (Start menu?), a shortcut that opens only the editor, using that would do it. You would have to add the full path to the shortcut manually, since you can only browse to an executable file.

      I thought I'd try here first ...

... since IV seemed to keep many of my choices, but not the editors links, so others may have had the issue. I will try your suggestions. Thanks!

It is always a good idea to back up configuration files when installing a new version of any software. I don't know how many times it has saved me a load of frustration. Using a file comparing tool like WinMerge - http://winmerge.org/ - is a good way to figure out what has changed in INI files.

Thanks for the tip about using a Shortcut as the target for External editor, Matera.
I don't know if the OP's original question is related in any way to my problem that I reported last month about External editor no longer accepting Command line options, http://en.irfanview-forum.de/vb/showthread.php?t=858
Whatever, your tip does provide a good workaround for my problem, so one happy bunny at least.

I guess you also installed 4.1 after downloading. I find it rather strange that you didn't find the way to use IrfanView as photo launcher. Didn't you make any changes in Properties»Extensions? There you can associate many formats to be able to view with IrfanView. Having indicated the paths to your external editors, you can allways start the first one with Shift+E, from the IrfanView browser as well. I don't see your problem at this point.
