Why doesn't the "apply original EXIF date/time to new file" functionality in the lossless transformations always apply the date/time in the EXIF data correctly? Sometimes it is one hour off. It seems to get messed up by daylight savings time. If we have gone on or off daylight savings time between the time the picture was taken and the time I "apply original EXIF date/time," it is messed up. (To clarify, I am talking about the timestamp of the file as shown by my operating system's file browser, not the the "file date/time" in the Irfanview "image properties".)
For example, I took a picture on 6/21/07 at 11:18am. When I downloaded the picture from my camera to my desktop on 6/22/07 at 3:45pm, the file timestamp shown in my operating system's file browser was 6/22/07 at 3:45pm. I used Irfanview to "apply original EXIF date/time to new file" and it changed the timestamp to 6/21/07 at 11:18am, as expected. However, if I wait until after we have gone off of daylight savings time, like today for example, to "apply original EXIF date/time", it changes the timestamp to 6/21/07 at 12:18pm. The EXIF date/time is 6/21/07 at 11:18am, which is correct, so why does change the timestamp to 6/21/07 at 12:18pm?
I hope this makes sense. It isn't as complicated as I've probably made it sound. Sorry! How can I get my file timestamps to be correct? Please help!
Thanks!
Rebecca
