installing plug-in problem

Hi
I just downloaded Irfan 4.1 and also tried to add the filters plug in iv effects.zip. I directed this into the plug in folder as directed but when I checked under 'effects' there is nothing in filter factory or filters unlimited.

Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong - in simply language please as I am a beginner.

You're right about Filter Unlimited. Even when "funltdiv.dll" is in the right plugins directory.
Filter Factory (shortcut 'K') normally has its plugins in a default subfolder '/FFactory'.
But you can always navigate through the subdirs of plugins via the Add files dialog.
Choosing the route via 'Ctrl+K' gives more chance of compatibility.

The "effects" plugin is not for those -- it is only for the "effects browser" basics (ten of which are on the effects menu).

The filter factory plugins, you have to download separately. There are a lot of different ones made by different people, you can search the Web and find hundreds. As for Filters Unlimited, again it is not something controlled by the effects plugin.
