Canon Raw image views as SRAW

I am shooting with a Canon 40D in Raw mode. The pictures should be 3888x2592 but shows up as 1936x1288. If I use canon's software the true size is right and I can convert it to a jpg and then it is 3888x2592 in IRFanview.

Is there a way to make it read the RAW (cr2) file correctly?

Hi amdkt7,

Look at Options | Properties/Settings in the Plug-ins tab and unchek the option for loading a preview image or the image in half size.

That works, I had to clear the "Try to load embedded preview image" and "load half size image".

However it takes forever to load, about 30 seconds.
I also installed the canon DLL, but it's very slow.

Indeed, but you now get full resolution from RAW data!
