Problems When I import photos.. plugin error

Hi everyone.
Been using Irfanview for years now, but last time I tried to import photos from my camera, this message appears:
"Can't load Plugin: Formats.dll"
I have downloaded the available plug ins but am not sure on how to activate them once un-zipped.
Any help would be great!

Which camera? Which image format? Which version of IrfanView? Which version of formats.dll (Help | Installed plug-ins)?
Plug-ins have to be installed in the "plugins" subdirectory where IrfanView in installed.
