Fix for playing .mov files with Irfanview plugin

If your having trouble with mov files, this is the fix to get it to play in Irfanview with the Quicktime plug in. In properties in Irfanview, Properties/Settings, tick Use Direct Show and Use Quicktime plug in. Then in Quicktime Player, Preferences, Quicktime preferences, Advanced tab, tick Safe Mode (GDI only). This mode will allow the Irfanview plug in to work properly for mov file type. Hope this helps everyone.

    Hi,
Make sure you installed the standard plugin package (download at www.irfanview.com). If the .MOV file doesn't show, you only have to install a codec package. IrfanView has no codecs of its own. K-Lite Codec Pack (freeware) will do the job and you can then make screenshots.
To convert .MOV files you have to use a converting program, not IrfanView. Try Freemake Video Converter Full (also freeware).
