By using I > IPTC-info > Origin > Object name I was able to add a title to my jpg files. I am not sure if this is the correct way, but it works, as long as the object name field is empty. However, when I want to change the title I entered earlier, I can change the contents of the object name field, but writing to the file has no effect. Is there a way to change the title of a jpg file with IRFANVIEW?

Last week all attempts to change an existing title of a jpg file with Irfanview failed. But for some or other reason today there was no problem at all. I have no idea what went wrong last week, maybe an instablity in Vista or more likely in myself. Anyway I am happy that I can withdraw my question.
