Thumbnails won't rotate together with image

First post here. I'm using Irfanview for years now, using version 4.10.

Today when I rotated my images (individual and batch), the images do rotate, but the thumbnails won't.
So when I look at the thumbnails in Irfanview or Windows, they are appear not rotated. But when I open the image, the picture is rotated.

Very confusing when using the images.

Does someone know why the thumbnails won't rotate? And can you tell me a solution to my problem?

    Hi kjiratsiekoedel,

Update the view in the thumbnails viewer.

If you mean rotating using the R or L key then the images obviously doesn't rotate as a result. The thumbnail viewer doesn't recognize any (rotated) images, saved to the same directory as was opened for viewing before editing images from that directory. You have to re-read the edited directory and IrfanView will show the rotated images/thumbnails.

The thumbnail viewer does now recognize the rotated images.
        But Windows won't.

What do you mean by 're-read', just refresh (F5)?
In Windows some of the thumbails are rotated, but others aren't.

Windows Explorer uses the hidden file "Thumbs.db" to indicating the thumbnails!

          That's why:

And Windows Explorer will refresh (update) the file "Thumbs.db".
Or you can also delete the hidden file(s) "Thumbs.db" in the folder(s), and Windows Explorer will create new files!

You can also stop windows from caching the thumbnails with this registry change:

            User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\
            Advanced]
            Value Name: DisableThumbnailCache
            Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
            Value Data: (0 = enabled, 1 = disable cache)

              No Thumbs.db

A nice tip for kjiratsiekoedel, jessered57! That should do it.
I always use the Folder options in Configuration. It's a lot easier, see the attachment.

Sorry I missed this reply, busy writing a program using Autoit, PDF Factory and of course Irfanview for blueprints

I am laughing because even though I knew how to disable the thumbnail cache in the registry, I never even noticed that you could do it in Folder options.
