    Bad tonality and colors

    Hi There,

I'm not an irfanview buff but i like to use it for viewing images edited in photoshop. The problem that i have is the fact that images, when viewed in irfan, are much darker and less saturated then they should. It goes for all the formats whether it's jpg, psd, or tiff. I don't have that problem when i view them with Windows Picture Viewer but i hate this program badly so... Is there anything i can do to improve the way irfan displays tones and colors?

    Thanx for any help.

    Hi manii,

I don't know what can be done for saturation, but for image darkness you can try Properties/Settings -> Viewing and use Apply gamma correction (value higher tha 1.00).

Did you set the option Viewing»Use embedded color profiles for JPG/TIF (PlugIn)? This gets a much slower viewing process though.

When you really want to solve this problem you have to save your Photoshop pictures with the more consistent sRGB-color profile (sRGB IEC61966-2.1). Now you problably use Adobe RGB, which I wont recomment.

The best way to fit in with Photoshop as well as with IrfanView (and other viewers) is to set your camera to sRGB too. Please read this too.
