Viewing AVI files
I have a 4-month old computer running Vista Home Premium.
Only a month ago I was running Irfanview 4.10 with plugins including IV_Player and was successfully viewing .AVI videos. Sadly, I had to reinstall my Vista program which involved formatting my hard drive. I had faithfully backed up all my data files and my Programs folder but when I reinstalled all my data, my copy of Irfanview stopped running my .AVI files.
I have downloaded and installed IV 4.23 and the plugins but I cannot play my .AVI files anymore.
As an experiment, I copied the Irfanview folder in C:\Programs which I had saved directly to my machine and that does not work either. I am thinking there is something in the configuration that I am missing.
The Error message I get tells me the Video Codec is IV50.
Also, my old machine, running Windows XP and IV 4.10 successfully runs my .AVI files.
What do I need to do to make this work?
