Working with very large images

I have a MrSID image of 40000x40000 pixels which I want to convert to TIF.
When I bring it in to IV has a "current size" of 10000x10000 although it seems to know what the "original size" is. When I save I only get the lower res. How can I preserve the very high res when I save as?
IV 4.0 on XP SP2 and a very newbie user.

Hi Seanus,

I just discovered something related to your post. Look at Options / Properties in the PlugIns tab: there is a button for MrSid options. I hope this can help. I don't have MsSid images, so I can't test.
