slideshow - can't pause/play

I can't find a way to pause when playing a slideshow.. (any decent slideshow program should have a play/pause/stop interface (with option to hide it..)

I hope it's my stupidity and not the program's.... that I just haven't found yet a way to pause a slideshow...

Am on Windows 2000; no picture gallery or any other built-in sw like that to run slideshows, so need to rely on a third-party for slideshows...

Pause key to pause/resume slideshow. Usually pressing other keys will also resume show.

yes, that was it.. had never used 'pause' button on keyboard to pause slideshow....
