    Solved Linux, WINE-Ubuntu Karmic-I know it's unsupported :)

    SOLVED - SEE BOTTOM!

I'm Beta testing Ubuntu 9.10. Irfanview worked fine in 9.04 "Jaunty". but as of last night, neither 4.23 nor 4.25 will run - they install fine, and yes, I did add MFC42.dll to the System 32 directory.
They will load, but I get a dialog box error.

This is just a "Heads Up" and will post more as I get info for us Linux Irfanview fans.

    Here's the relevant Ubuntu post:

Here's the post on the WINE board:

Yea, will keep info posted here.

Hey Matera, - on your sig, what about "looser" and "loser"
      Sort of opposite, eh?

      English, what a strange language!

Oh, I don't know. A "loser" is someone whose attention, work habits, moral attitudes, and perhaps even pants, are "looser". Not opposite at all

          Solved!

D'oh! I forgot to read my old notes! It says real clearly: "Once installed, edit i_view32.ini and delete the lines following "[Toolbar]"at the bottom."

          Thanks!

          PS: Why is this ?

Hmm. I don't know why, but I'll certainly try it. I suspect it's a problem with a path at load time, it's trying to think in Windows and Linux at the same time and that gives it a brainfart.

YEAH! With default toolbar all is okie-dokies. It's just the skins that freak it out. Everything works, including my vast 8bf collection.
