Batch rename - date and number sequence

I need to rename a batch with both the date taken as well as a number sequence, but I need the number sequence to restart with each new date, so basically it is a counter for the number of pics taken each day.

The closest I got is $T(%Y-%m-%d)-##

This works fine for the date in the format I want it, but the number sequence is continuous for all the pics, instead of being specific to each day.

Any ideas?

I am pretty sure you will not be able to do it with Irfanview. Try Googling for something like "rename multiple files" and see if you can find a program to do it.
