    Missing controls - help needed

Hi, I just installed Irfan viewer on my dad's XP computer so he could easily load slideshows. I set the default to full screen. However, I don't know how to get the controls to show on the screen. The only thing we can do is hit the esc button and that ends the whole show. He would like to pause at a minimum. I need to keep it very simple since he is 98 and legally blind. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Never used the standard Irfanview slideshow feature but there may be an other solution.

Create a PDF slideshow by creating a multipage PDF via Irfanview+ImPDF plugin (>= v.073).
Check the ImPDF settings for controlling page duration and transition effects.
In Acrobat reader there is the possibility to show some controls.

Welcome to the Forum, lbabus. I had done exactly the same for my dad about 4 years ago...!

However, I did not go the Slide Show route - I merely taught him to navigate to the folder containing all the images and to click on the First Image in it. Press Enter to view the picture full-screen and thereafter, Page-Up/ Page-Down...!

Page-Up/ Page-Down works fine for Slide Shows as well!
      Download IrfanView Help Manual from:

I am afraid there are no on-screen controls for an Irfanview slideshow, Ibabus, just key strokes. To pause the show press the Pause button. May not be too hard for your Dad to find since it is usually at the other end of the top row from Esc. Press any key to restart.

Thanks for the hints. The PB button on the keyboard seems to be the best solution. Lauren
