    Batch resize specific file names

    Hi,

I am having a little difficulty batch resizing each file within a folder structure with a specific filename. I have a main folder:

    Movies

Within that folder i have numerous sub folders:

    Movie 1
    Movie 2
    Movie 3 etc

within each movie subfolder there a 3 files:

    folder.jpg
    backdrop.jpg
    movie.avi

I want to create a batch process which will selectively resize ALL folder.jpg to 750 x 1065 but leave out the backdrop.jpg files

I can't seem to seperate the backdrop.jpg files from the folder.jpg files from within the batch conversion/rename panel.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

Easiest way is to use the Search feature.
Open Irfanview and choose File >search files . Check "Search in subfolders" and then search your Movies folder for "folder.jpg".
When it has found them all click "Show in Thumbnails".
Click Ctrl+A to highlight all the thumbnails, then right click on one of them and choose "Start Batch dialog with selected files"

You will need to use the Advanced options for resizing.
          1. Select either Batch conversion or Batch conversion - rename result files
          2. Check Use advanced options
          3. Click on Advanced. The Advanced options dialog opens
          4. Check Resize
          5. Select Set one or both sides to - Width 1920 - Height 1080
          6. Check Preserve aspect ratio. That will give you the largest image that will fit on your screen whilst correctly retaining the shape.
          7. Check Use resample function if you want best quality (slower)
          8. OK
