    non numerical month stamp

being aware that this powerful software can batch rename jpg files for me, i cant seem to set the naming convention to spell out the month, for example my jpg is named..

010111 (01/01/11)...i want to batch rename the files in this format 1st Jan 2011 or i could suffer 01 jan 2011, is this at all possible in orfan view ? i have downloaded all the plugins and had a good look at it..if not is it something that can be easily implemented ? my canon camera names files like this if i import them using the actual camera attached to the computer rather than using the SD card in the pc so it is possible.

    Thanks.

I have read the help file extensivley but as far as i can see there is NO way of getting the month spelled out with capitalisation instead of numericals...can this feature be added ? or does anyone know of a program that will do it ?

"batch rename" with using the name of the months

      Hi loady,

      Nice idea!
      • But with the options of the "batch rename" function it's only possible to get the number of the month and not the name of the month! (See attached screenshots!)
      • Using the name of the month - that sounds like a good idea! But what's with the fact that IrfanView is an international program? In my opinion such an idea would have to work with all usable languages! And that means: A lot of new sources of error! (Or should it work only in english language?)

What do the other users say?
What does the program author say?
(Tell him your idea! Write him an email!)

      best regards

        Hi,

forgive my ignorance, english being international language most would know jan, feb, mar, apr...however, and again forgive my lack of coding etc...would it not just be a matter of a different language pack for that specific function or even maybe people that want to use it ask for it to be included in thier language...who knows..maybe only the english would want it LOL.

I will certainly try to email the author.
