Audio plug-ns for Portable IrfanView?

I periodically update IrfranView on this computer, including the plug-in package. It's my does-almost-everything audio/graphic viewer.

Yesterday i decided I needed OpenOffice as a portable and installed it on a flash drive, and at the same time installed IrfanView Portable. There, it acts only a a photo viewer, no audio.

As I understand it, the plug-in package has to be installed. Can this be done on a flash drive, so I can take advantage of audio capabilities?

If not, can somebody suggest good audio/video freeware application that will live happily on a flash drive?

No problem. Just install the plugins in the same folder as Irfanview on the flash drive, or if you already have an Irfanview installation with plugins on your hard drive just copy the whole Plugins folder from there to the Irfanview folder on the flash drive.
