    Thumbnails Contact Sheets

I have read that it is possible to create contact sheets with multiple images per sheet but I am struggling at the first hurdle!

I have opened the first image file and pressed 'T' to open the Thumbnails window.
It opens in the correct folder, but there are no images in the right-hand pane.
Should they appear here? Do I need to do something else?

    Help would be hugely appreciated.

Open the Properties/Settings dialog and click on "Extensions". There are several options just below the middle:
&Load only associated types while moving through directory
    Load &custom file types:
    Load default extensions [button]

What is shown in the thumbnails window depends on which option is chosen and which file types are associated with IrfanView. If "&Load only associated types while moving through directory" is selected, you will not see any files that are not associated with IV; that could be your problem.

Or the custom list may not include what you're looking for, if it's been edited. The "Load default extensions" button reverts the custom list to its original defaults.

Thanks for the reply - it wasn't the solution, but pointed me in the right direction.
By default I remove the "View all files in directory (moving/browsing through directory + thumbnails)" option on the "Misc. 1" tab, as it tends to slow down when moving through one of our huge drawing repositories.
Checking the box again made the images show up.
      Thanks very much!
