Cannot make IPTC place holder work

I am making a screensaver of about 800 pics. At the top I want to place the file name and the caption describing the contents of the picture. In slideshow SHOW TEXT BOX I placed the following:
$F $I120
IT DOES NOT WORK! What Am I doing wrong. I have checked and the caption is there.

I found the solution. IPTC placeholders do not work using *.PSD files! The files must be *.jpg
