Convert an RGB image into Grayscale (16bit)

sorry iäm back with more problems,can you please tell me if it is possible to convert an RGB image into grayscale(16bit) using irfanview?

IrfanView can't deal with 16bit... So if you are converting to grayscale, you just can use 8bit.
