    Dual monitor application Help!

    Hi,
Im sorry i have no experience using irfanview but i heard from a friend it might allow me to do what i need, so im wondering if anyone here can help? Basically i have my pc connected to a projector (hdmi), i need to run an uninterrupted slideshow through the projector (cant be closed/minimised/windowed) for 10+ hours, essentially cycling through 100 slides. I need to be able to drop in different slides as the show cycles over the long period, which im hoping i will be able to do on my pc.

I heard there is a simple way to do it by maximising a windowed preview in some slideshow software, but when i change the slides on my pc the slideshow on the projector does not update automatically, it requires that i restart the preview before it will update the changes.

So im looking for some software that will allow me to edit a slideshow on a pc while the actual show on another display will update the changes automatically without interruption.

Can irfanview help me achieve this? sorry if its hard to understand what im trying to do, im not very technically minded. Hope someone can help!

    Thanks

I know of no way to change the contents of an ordinary slideshow in Irfanview while it is running. However you can open a folder of images in the normal window and press Shift+A to make it step through the folder automatically using the same settings that you have selected for a slideshow. There is an option in the Browsing tab of Properties/Options for the show to loop at the end of the folder, so make sure that is checked before you start. Shift+A has a toggle action so it both starts and stops the auto show. When the show is running you can drag the Irfanview window to the area of the desktop that is mapped to the projector and press Enter. It should change to Full screen and look just like a slideshow.
If you delete or move an image out of the folder then Irfanview will notice that when it tries to play it and remove it from the show. If you add new images to the show you need to put the focus back to the projector area of the desktop which you can do (I think) by clicking the Irfanview icon on the taskbar of your computer display and pressing the F5 button to make it update the file list.
