    Problem with Cut and Paste

I do have a strange new problem with irfanview (4.30).

If I take a screen shot and than cut an are inside when I click past I do not longer have just the area which has been catted but again the original screen shot with the cut place in the original space.

    How can it be?

You Paste into same selected area of which you Cut.
Select the area desired, perform Cut (Ctrl+X), Select All (Ctrl+A) then Paste (Ctrl+V).

There was a change a couple of issues ago so that the selection now remains on screen after you copy or cut (or paste). That means, as you have discovered, that the area that you Cut to the clipboard is replaced again from the clipboard in exactly the same place that it came from if you paste without moving the selection box.

What do you want to do? If you want the program to behave exactly as it used to do, then just click on the image somewhere outside the Cut area and the selection box will be removed. If you want to paste the bit that you Cut somewhere else on the image without resizing it, leave the selection box on screen, right click inside the cut area and drag the selection to the new position before pasting.

Or just crop to the selection using CRTL-Y or the edit menu.
