Solved Saving batch output to same directory as source files?

When converting in batch mode, can the output files be put in the same directory that the source files came from? This is useful when converting across multiple directories from a common root directory.

Yes. Just leave the "Output directory for files" box completely blank and the output file will be put into the source folder.
Other useful things to put into that box are \[folder name] to put the output file into a subfolder of the source folder (it will be created if it does not already exist) and ..\[folder name] to put it into a different folder in the same parent directory as the source folder.

Files aren't put in same folder

I'm doing drag/drop into the input file list for batch conversion, and all of the files are ending up in the "look in" directory, even if none of the files come from there. The output folder is blank, as you indicated above. I'm using v4.32 on win 7 64bit.

      Is this a bug?

Sorry. I forgot to say that you need to check the box "Create subfolders in destination folder" in the Advanced dialog.

          Found my own answer

From an older thread: "If you leave the output directory box empty you need to check Create subfolders in destination folder in the advanced options."

          Works great.
