IV suddenly converting cropped photo to B&W

I have some photos I took of LP album covers. Since I could not get the camera lined up perfectly, I loaded then into IV to crop the edges. The first 3-4 went fine. Now, all of a sudden, the cropped image looks good on the screen after cropping, but when I save it and reopen it, it has been converted to B&W.

What am I doing wrong?

I am cropping by by drawing a crop rectangle and then pressing Ctrl+y.

I finally figured it out. Somehow the Save as Greyscale JPG setting was turned on. I had to try Save As to see it.
