Show Images to Fit the Screen

I have a problem. 4.58 64bit Windows 10 home, MSI GL72 I usually enlarge or reduce images to fit the screen but since the latest update images show in actual size by default and changing my preferences in 'properties/settings' has absolutely no effect. To test I have changed the background colour and the size and font of text in preferences and that works, but I cannot adjust the default appearance of an image.

In the menu, try View - Display options (window mode) - Fit images to window.

Thanks, I found it. I knew the setting existed but was looking for it in options\properties_settings, rather than the View menu. Again, thanks.
