Multi-Page TIFF with Mixed 8-Bit and 32-Bit Floating Point (greyscale) Pages

I use a thermal imaging software that produces a result file containing 8-Bit and 32-Bit Float pages (multiple/interleaved). This seems to present a problem to any conversion/extraction attempts with Irfanview and others because everything gets treated as if the pages are only 8-Bit, or in some cases the pages are seen as HDR frames, which they are not. I don't even know if TIFF supports this kind of mixing. I would think it does, but I have never found a solution to extract the 32-bit data separately.

Any ideas how I can get at the 32-bit pixels?

Unfortunately IrfanView cannot process 32 bit floating point samples.
