IrfanView crashes when playing videos

Hi,
I'm running IrfanView 4.60 32 bit on Windows 10 x64.

Every time when IrfanView tries to open an MP4 file, it closes immediately without any other notification (no crash, no bug report, nothing).
It is the same when I try to play the file using "Start Multimedia Player".
Thumbnails shows the first frame of the video, but that was.

I suppose a codec issue, but everything else on my laptop can play MP4 files (VLC, Windows Media Player, Movies & TV, Photos).

How can I find the issue?

My installation of IrfanView only plays MP4-Videos with the external player, not the internal player.
You need to have IV_PLAYER.EXE installed and activated in 'Help - Installed PlugIns...'

IV_PLAYER.exe is installed and I can open it directly from Program Files(x86).
It crashes/closes without any warning if I try to play a video file with it.

I have deleted the AppData\Roaming\IrfanView\i_view32.ini file too, no success.
