Open Folder Location - IrfanView Thumbnails

Sorry if this has been asked. I would have assumed it would be a common question, but search came up blank

Is there an option / add-on that would allow a right-click on the IrfanView thumbnail > Open File Location (i.e., containing folder in windows file explorer).

I tried adding explorer.exe to the "open with external editor" shift-1 setting, but it simply opens the file, and not the folder where the file is contained.

    Thanks,
    D

Create file (using notepad or other text editor)

    type:
    start "" "%~d1%~p1"

    save somewhere
shift-right click on the file in explorer and click "Copy as path"
    run IrfanView
    click Options-Properties/Settings
    click Miscellaneous
click in one of the Set external editors and paste
    click OK

open Thumbnails and use the chosen shift-# and you should be good to go.

Thank you Matt, that works well.

Would there be any term/text to add to that batch file so that it also focuses on the file in Windows file explorer once the folder is opened?

Similar to how selecting a file from a windows file explorer search, then "right click > open file location" works.

      Thanks,
      D
