Synchronized rename of paired *.raw and *.jpg files?

I'm wondering if this is possible in Irfanview: For some cases I take photos both in *.raw and *.jpg format and switching during the day to either of them. To rename files, it would be great to rename them depending on the creation time but if two files with the same name but different file extension are existing, the counter should not go up. I found the sidecar files option, but this does not effect the batch rename.
This feature is possible in Lightroom, Digikam, etc. but I would prefer using Irfanview.
