.webm thumbnails. used to work fine but now just freezes

Widow 10 home version 22H2
IrfanView 460 - 32bit
WebP.dll in plugins file in Irfan View main folder

my problem is I used to be able to navigate to my .webm folder , open one in IrfanView click on thumbnails and get a thumbnail of every .webm that was in that folder. Lately thumbnails take a minute or longer to try and load and then i just get a icon with Irfanview is not responding message.
If i right click on a .webm and click open with irfanview the .webm opens and plays fine.
