Is there a batch conversion option for incorrect extension?

I know IrfanView can batch convert a bunch of images, and also that it has this option to Ask to rename if incorrect extension. But can it correct extension in batch?

I have "tons" of images making IV show the following message, and it would be great if it could do that:

Name:	IVincext.png
Views:	82
Size:	220.5 KB
ID:	98505

    TIA.

I don't think there is such an option. This task could be done with Total Commander for one combination of format and extension at a time.

    Search for: *.jpg
    Find text: WEBPVP8
    Case sensitive

    Results > Feed to listbox

Bring up Files > Multi-Rename Tool
In the extension box replace [E] with webp.
    Press Start to rename.
