View removed areas of lossless crop

I remember a while ago looking at an article that revealed that a lot of software packages were using a lossless cropping method for jpegs, and that this did not remove the data.

I was wondering if there was a way to view the cropped sections in irfanview, or if you know of a free windows tool to do so, though I know that's a bit outside the scope of these forums. I've found that the thumbnail viewer does show you all the image without any of those operations but I'd like to view it directly.

Data is removed. You can see that the size reduces. The thumbnail is a separate copy, often too small to be useful.

The reason why I think this one file is one of the incorrect ones is that show in the thumbnail viewer, is both a larger area and seems to be a higher detail and rotated. . I'll keep looking to see if I can find tools. I'll try to see if it has an embeded thumb that wasn't touched and that's what I'm seeing.
